Announcements

FSFSDelft University of Technology wishes to provide financial assistance to foreign students in cases where their studies have been delayed owing to special circumstances with a new foreign student financial support scheme (FSFS).

Special circumstances are: physical disease, physical or sensory disorder (generally a handicap), or educational force majeure. Educational force majeure is defined as the course being structured in such a way that the student was not able in all reasonableness to successfully take the final examination within the prescribed period.

FSFS is provided for students who have been registered with Delft University of Technology for a long time, are following the 5-year programme or an MSc course, do not possess Dutch nationality and are not equated with Dutch citizens on the basis of some statutory provision in the field of study financing.

The scheme may only be invoked if the special circumstances first arose after 1st September 2000. To be eligible for support, a student must contact his study mentor in good time, if special circumstances arise. Several additional requirements apply to obtaining financial support.

For more information look at the Delft University of Technology’s student charter for 2000-20001 at www.ssc.tudelft.nl.

Ifes

Ifes-Delft is a group of Dutch Christian students organising activities especially for international students. Every last Saturday of the month we organize an intercultural evening. The evening starts with a meal (it’s for free and no subscription is needed) and is followed by an evening program.

June 30, there will be a games evening. There will be the typical Dutch game ‘sjoelen’ (shuffleboard) and darting. It will start at 18:00 at Oude Delft 251.
