Educationaward for Van Valkenburg
Willem van Valkenburg, Executive Director of TU Delft Extension School, has won a Surf Education Award for his contribution to educational innovation. He was awarded the prize on Monday during an online ceremony.
The jury praised Van Valkenburg for his tireless commitment to open education. “Willem has been a great driving force in opening up education at TU Delft. Partly thanks to him, TU Delft is an enormous pioneer in this field. He is always willing to share lessons learned with anyone who is interested,” writes the jury.
“It’s great to get this kind of appreciation”, said Van Valkenburg in a videocall with Surf. “I’m focused on making things better for students, but it is always nice to get recognition for it”.
The Surf Education Awards were awarded for the fifth time this year.
