​Eerste oratie in gebarentaal

Beppie van den Bogaerde zal volgende week als eerste Nederlandse hoogleraar haar oratie in gebarentaal uitspreken.
Van den Bogaerde is al sinds 2007 lector aan de Hogeschool Utrecht en werd vorig jaar benoemd tot hoogleraar Gebarentaal aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam.

Ze zal haar oratie in die taal houden. Twee tolken vertalen de voordracht voor de toehoorders.

Volgens Van den Bogaerde kun je in gebarentaal alles zeggen, maar zijn de grammaticale regels waarlangs dat verloopt nog niet goed omschreven. Een betere kennis van de grammatica kan helpen bij het onderwijs in die taal.
