Breakfast? ‘Let’s go to the same bread stall’. Chicken with rice, Phở Bò or Cao lầu? ‘I know just the right place!’ ‘My bike is broken..
Let me go to Mr. Tuấn. After living more than a month in Vietnam now, we know how to find just the right people for the job. That’s very easy when it comes to arranging the fieldwork and planning fun weekends.
Mr. Tuấn always lets you stop for a small chat when you cycle down the street in front of his bike shop. With a big smile, he suggested that we should do what every Vietnamese does: riding the motorbike. Besides our orange bikes, he wanted to give the Dutchies the orange scooter. Afterwards, we went to Mr. Ngoc for a relaxing river cruise in a traditional Hoi An boat. He was a happy man!
Dr. Viet, the rector of the school, is the professor to go to for our research related issues. We are planning to take a sediment sample from the bottom of the sea and compare it to the soil properties of the native beach sand. That is important information for a beach nourishment at Cua Dai beach. In cooperation with our main sponsor Boskalis, we discussed the fieldwork method. Under certain agreed conditions, they accepted to the plan and are willing to think with us. We appreciate the support and looking forward to go onto the sea next week.
