Eindhoven first TU with female rector

Flemish professor Silvia Lenaerts will become rector magnificus of TU Eindhoven on 11 May. She is the first woman to hold this position at a technical university in the Netherlands.

Lenaerts holds a large number of administrative positions in academia and beyond. Among others, she is on the board of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. At the University of Antwerp, Lenaerts (1966) was head of the Sustainable Energy and Air and Water Technology group she founded. Since 2016, she was also vice-rector of valorisation & development.
