Living differently after corona
Do people they want to live closer to nature as a consequence of the corona lockdowns? That seems to be the case. Or so Marjolein Bons, architecture and the built environment student found out during her graduation research. Her research is based on a survey of housing seekers registered with Nieuwbouw Nederland, a supply platform for new homes.
The results are based on a sample of 1458 respondents. Working from home makes one’s own garden, the greenery in the street or the park in the neighborhood more important. And people want to be able to go into nature more easily (50.8% of all respondents indicate this) and 30.9% want to live in a residential area with more greenery. On the whole, people appear willing to live further from the city and work.
