AI Art exhibition at TU Delft Library

How can artificial intelligence be used to create art? TU Delft students and staff gave it a try during the AI art competition ‘Gen AI on the Fly’.

Currently, the central hall of the TU Delft Library hosts an exhibition featuring the winning works from this competition. A total of 35 TU Delft students and staff members submitted their creations in these three categories: visual art, music, and academic assignments.

The jury, consisting of AI artists and researchers Jeroen van der Most and Peter van der Putten, selected the prize winners. The winning entry, “Scraping the Rabbit Off” by master’s student Benedikt Kainzbauer (Electrical Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Science), tells the personal story of the creator, who decided to become a vegetarian after accidentally running over a rabbit.

In addition to the prize-winning pieces, the environmentally inspired creation Letters from Nature by Van der Most and Van der Putten is also on display. This installation uses artificial intelligence to write letters from the earth’s perspective about climate change.

  • The exhibition Gen AI on the Fly is on display until 8 January in the central hall of the TU Delft Library.
