Student talk, visits to student associations, and the OWaterlympics were on the OWee programme for Tuesday. The heavy rain in the afternoon was not.
After a short night, the first year students could reciver at one of the many student associations. Caring seniors prepared healthy brunches for them, such as here at Laga.
After brunch it was time for adventure. At Sint Jansbrug, some daredevils abseiled from the top of the building to the bottom. Legend has it that in all these years, only one person has ever been wounded: Mayor Marja van Bijsterveldt twisted her ankle.
In the Delftse Hout park around midday, the OWaterlympics flame was lit. Those taking part could climb and slide over metres long assault courses.
A cloudburst above Delft was even too much for the water games and the event ended early.
Luckily the rain did not deter film fanatics from going to the open air cinema on the Markt. Wrapped in ponchos, residents and students watched The Fall Guy together.
Under the saying ‘a good neighbour is better than a faraway friend’, various sports associations held a silent disco at the Proteus-Eretes rowing association where first years could party in relative quiet till deep in the night. See you tomorrow!
