My normal online time usually starts in the morning, when I catch up on emails, check my day’s agenda, mark new items and quickly glance at news headlines. I also check my Google reader, which provides me with interesting reads from feeds I’m subscribed to. I then go to one of the forums I moderate, including the world’s largest online magic community, where I’m one of the forum leaders, helping members progress in the art of magic. I’m a semi-professional working magician, and also have a Facebook page focusing on my magic activities and shows. I don’t use Youtube much, because I think it’s a waste of time just surfing it, but I do enjoy Vimeo, as they have some very good quality stuff and occasionally some awesome competitions.

My online identity is a very important, and if you Google me, the first three pages are only me. I’ve worked a decent amount to get myself there with things like SEO. I also have my own professional magic website to manage, which I use for information on shows, bookings, updates and media.

When I’m free, I do chat with friends, but I make sure I don’t spend too much time doing this – it’s very easy to get carried away and just burn time! When productivity beckons, chatting isn’t on my list of things to do. Many people I know and have met online are people who I haven’t actually met for real yet, and are mostly fellow magicians and artists from around the world. I’ve made some wonderful friends online who have helped me over the years.

I used to write for TU Delft’s International weblog. I was quite widely read and had over 220,000 hits on the page. I’ve received many emails, questions and comments on my posts, in which I mainly share experiences about life, the Netherlands, my travels…. I still write this blog, but not as regularly as before.

When I have free time, I provide online technical support on some websites. There are people all over the world having troubles or issues with their machines, and I’m pretty decently versed in handling issues of those sorts. And it also pays!”

De bussen en taxi’s verhuizen van de voorkant van het station naar de achterzijde. Aan de Laan van Vollering is de afgelopen maanden een nieuw busstation aangelegd. De bussen rijden vanaf de Laan van Vollering via de Van Bleyswijckstraat naar de Westlandseweg.

Het busstation verhuist eind januari of begin maart 2010 naar de achterkant van het station. Er komt vanaf het busstation een loopbrug naar het station. Die wordt waarschijnlijk in het weekeinde van 5 en 6 maart 2010 geplaatst.

Fietsers en voetgangers kunnen in de nieuwe situatie het station nog wel via de voorkant bereiken. Voor hen blijft de brug tegenover de Barbarasteeg toegankelijk. Ook blijft het spoortunneltje voor fietsers en voetgangers gedurende de werkzaamheden open.

De Coenderstraat, aan de achterkant van het station, wordt een eenrichtingsstraat. Verkeer kan dan alleen van de kant van de Buitenwatersloot in de richting van het station rijden. Verder komt er in de loop van 2010 bij het GWK-kantoor een extra trap voor voetgangers naar perron 1.
