Foreign eyeI used to see the roofs of Delft from my old room in that very well known building in which many foreign students are placed.
From my room on the 13th floor, I had a terrific view of the center of Delft. From there I could see the mixture of colors, of the reds, browns and yellows, which are strong enough to defeat the gray days of the Netherlands. After I enjoyed this view for almost two years, I decided to move to the center, to experience the ‘real’ Delft. Some people say that if you have not lived in the center of Delft, you have not experienced the city. Luckily, my new room was on the second floor of a very old house. From there I again had a fine view of the roofs of Delft, those beautiful roofs that still inspire me.
