Sport Institute

How can athletes go faster and jump higher, with less resistance? These are just the kind of technological questions TU Delft can provide answers to, which is why the university is now pooling all its teaching and research expertise in the area of sport in the new TU Delft Sports Engineering Institute.

Wednesday, September 17, saw the official opening of the institute in the Faculty of Mechanical, Maritime and Materials Engineering (3mE). Sporting inventions of TU Delft, like shoes that protect the ankles, a wheelchair for basketball players and an ultrafast rowing boat, were exhibited at the opening of the institute.
